Breast Cancer Awareness
N A T I O N A L P H I L A N T H R O P Y
Our national philanthropy focuses its efforts on Breast Cancer Awareness. We aim to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research as well as improve care for patients. Some of the organizations that we have supported have donated to research causes and funded education and screenings for millions of women.
Throughout years of various partnerships, we have raised over $1M across all aKDPhi chapters for breast cancer research. We aim to hold multiple service events for BCA during October as we dedicate October as BCA month. Not only have we raised funds, but awareness has been spread on our campuses through tabling, booths, information sessions etc.

History
In 1998, alpha Kappa Delta Phi launched its first-ever National Service project. Through our 22 chapter effort, we dedicated the year of 1998-99 to Breast Cancer Awareness by educating ourselves, our college campuses, and our communities. Through the efforts of our active sisters and alumnae, we have raised over $1M across all aKDPhi chapters for breast cancer research.
In addition to raising funds, awareness is spread on all our campus communities through service projects, workshops, informational booths, or forums.

Past Events

Paddle For Pink - Fall 2024
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we teamed up with the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) to host Paddle for Pink, a philanthropy pickleball tournament. Teams of two faced off in a fun, bracket-style competition, while attendees enjoyed our pink lemonade stand and entered raffles for Sonny Angels and Smiskis.
The event blended friendly competition, community, and meaningful awareness.
Pie-an-aKDPhi
To raise funds for our national philanthropy, we hosted Pie-an-aKDPhi where attendees could pie their favorite sisters, all in support of a meaningful cause. Sisters tabled for two days on campus, rallying support from students, friends, and family.
All proceeds from the event supported breast cancer research, education, and advocacy efforts. Thanks to the generosity of our community and alumnae, we were able to raise nearly $1,000—making Pie-an-aKDPhi one of our most impactful events on campus.

Bra Pong Tournament and Ice Cream Social
One of our favorite traditions during Breast Cancer Awareness Month is our annual Bra Pong Tournament and Ice Cream Social. Participants pay to play and compete for the highest score by aiming ping pong balls into a board of decorated bras.
Winners received their favorite ice cream treat and enjoyed a laid-back social, all in support of breast cancer awareness and education.
